Any view of Kuala Lumpur (a.k.a. KL) must start with the Petronas Towers.
A night shot of the towers
The street scene in Chinatown where people sell everything from fake gucci purses to pirated DVD's that aren't even in the local theatres yet.
Jenn and me in Merdeka Square. In the background there is a mosque and KL Tower.
The steps leading to the Muzium Negara (National Museum) which costs a whole US$0.26 to enter.
A dragon boat outside the national museum.
A picture commemorating the last Malaysian badminton team that won the Thomas cup in 1969 (or something like that). While we were in Malaysia a 20 year old guy (Hafiz) won the All England Badminton Tourney - the first time a Malaysian has won that in 36 years. It was a big to-do. The Prime minister urged people not to bestow gifts upon him (like they did to the last guy who won 36 years ago) because it will make him soft and he won't practice as hard - people gave the last guy gifts like land, houses, money, jewels, etc.
A throne that would be carried in a procession. While it's awfully pretty it's still unclear who could possibly fit in there!?!?
A kite maker making his wares.
A carving of the banana spirit.
Lake Gardens is a beautiful park right in KL.
A lion dance in the streets of KL during Chinese New Year.
Motorbikes rule the streets of KL. Actually, it's not the motorbikes that rule the streets as much as it is the people who ride them. They go wherever they want, whenever they want - including down the sidewalk, the wrong way down a one way street, through red lights, etc. and they never get honked at.
