A true sea stove

A pic of my stove just hanging around

I bought an old optimus stove for the boat. It's mounted on a sea-swing which is fully gimballed. You can see in the picture it hangs there above the well that held the old stove. Now that well can be used for storage and also as a place to hold hot pots since I put thick sheets of aluminum on the bottom.

I have two burners for my stove - kerosene and alcohol. You can still find brand new parts for these kind of stoves. It probably cheaper to just pick up replacement burners and so on at used marine stores since they show up there frequently and then you don't have to pay shipping costs.

One day before I went sailing I filled a pot with water and put it in the sea-swing. I sailed around the bay for like 7 hours in 15 knots of air and not a drop spilled from the nearly full pot.
